Television composers have a unique job description. They need to possess the imagination, technical skills and endurance to score tons of cues on impossibly tight deadlines; they’re also musical psychologists, digging deep into the emotion behind every scene, and finding a way to convey it without detracting from the action onscreen. Our panelists will share the joys and challenges of scoring for the most popular shows on TV. They’ll explain how they work with the rest of the show’s crew to manifest the vision of the showrunner, and offer tips on what you need to succeed in the high-stress world of TV scoring.
